Books & logos.
The combination thereof is almost enough to send me into a fit.
In order of appearance:
- Alber, Book store, Eugen & Max Lenz
- Textbooks.com, Werner Design Works
- Trees For Life, Gardner Design
- Explosive Technology, Saul Bass
- Gotham Books, Eric Baker
- Simon & Schuster, Prejean Creative
- Imperial Books, Designer unknown
- Asian Arts Publishing Group, Tnop™ Design
- Fleming H Revell Publishing, Wages Design
- Educational Development Corporation, Designer unknown.
(You have no idea how hard it was to not rip off Werner Design Werks and that last one for the BCA non-existent logo. No. Idea.)
Wink’s mark for Target’s Bookmarked is another smart book-centric logo.

That Saul Bass logo looks suspiciously like double the ConEd logo. Suspicious of the ConEd, not Saul Bass.
wonderful marks.
Love the Gotham Books logo. Very elegant and clever. Always the simplest of concepts well executed that work out best.
Agree, the Gotham Books one blows me away, but does it look to anybody else like the text is a little too far over to the left? Could be an optical illusion with where the words break… could be that I’m wrong!
Also judging by their Facebook page, Gotham Books logo has been updated and I think unfortunately they’ve taken a step backwards in terms of having trust in their audience’s intelligence.
These are really lovely. I would like to thank Eric Baker for not using Gotham on the Gotham Books logo. Ha!
The Beacon Press logo is nice because it looks like a the rays shining out from a beacon and also an open book: http://www.beacon.org/ It’s not as Cool as some of these, though.
We’re honored that you included the logo we created for Simon & Schuster’s Threshold Editions imprint with these wonderful marks. Thank you.
