If this topic is of interest to you, head over there and let me know what you think.

The key for me is the degree to which the advertisements relate to the blog/archive subject matter and the degree to which they are clearly part of the Web site design and not simply a boxy add-on. If the ads are too frequent, poorly selected, or irritating, I simply sign off. Of course, I assume that there is a line between editorial and advertisement so that an advertiser is not allowed to influence blog content.

  2. To me, the simplistic and easy to navigate design of your site is what appeals to my eye, but it’s the depth of content that keeps me coming back. I would say if you can avoid those flashing, blinking, noise-making advertisements, and keep them relevant to the content within your site, I wouldn’t mind them, just dont let them distract my eyes from your beautifully designed site!

  3. I haven’t seen an ad online for years. I use AdBlock Plus in Firefox and PithHelmet in Safari. Whether or not you see ads is a user-defined option – people who don’t mind them will see them and those who do can load up on the readily available add-ons. And bloggers should do what they need/want to do.
