I’m very happy to see a book cover designed by Daniel Gil on The Book Cover Archive… His work for Alianza Editorial, of Spain, from the mid-1960s through the late 1980s was incredible, and his covers were known throughout Latin America as well.
There is an extensive flickr set of his covers here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alwayschapas/sets/72157608174037177/
There’s something about Kafka that brings out the best in designers. My favorite is the cover for Roberto Calasso’s book on Kafka, called (you guessed it!) K. You can see it here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/1400041899/sr=1-4/qid=1261414153/ref=dp_image_text_0?ie=UTF8&n=266239&s=books&qid=1261414153&sr=1-4
