Design:Delayed

Is Design:Related the slowest site on the internet, or is it just me? My goodness, I know it is a free service but they might consider upgrading their servers.

I hate visiting portfolios over there because I know it’s going to be a solid 15 minute commitment just to work my way through their examples of work. Anyone else have this issue?

  1. Sadly, yes. I love that site…

Yes, its a little slow, but knowing what a grassroots effort it is i think theyre doing fabulously well. I would be happy to pay a membership fee for server upgrades and i think a lot of other people would too.

i think you’re on to something, lauren. i would gladly pay a small membership fee to help float the boat. or maybe the site can host a server upgrade donation drive? the people running it have, since day one, gone above and beyond to provide an indispensable resource and design community, but no one can do it alone.

Keep up all this talk of donations and I’m going to wind up slapping a giant PayPal Donation link on the Archive.

  5. It’s a wonderful community they have built at Design:Related. They are great people and work very hard at it. I cut them some slack in the area of speed of the website. I’m sure it’s something that will be improved in the future.

Yes, ALL the time. It’s a shame too because a lot of my favorite designers store their newer work there. After reading some of the comments above, i’ve decided to cut them some slack. Especially since i hardly know them. I’d be all for a membership upgrade if it meant increased speeds.
